Banyan is something I wanted to exist: a structured way to collect the stories that usually slip away — a grandparent's earliest memory, a parent's voice, the context behind an old photo. Memories are organized by person and by theme (Childhood, Love & Relationships, Family Stories…), guided by prompts, and can be kept private or shared in collaborative family spaces with role-based permissions. I built it end to end as the sole developer — UI/UX, an offline-first data layer that reads instantly from a local cache and reconciles with live Firestore listeners, a permissions model enforced all the way down to the security rules, App Store-compliant account deletion, and the App Review process itself. (It first shipped under the name Roots; the App Store listing updates to Banyan on July 1st.)
